The 4th Chemo Cycle
March 12, 2009Funny how our blood keeps us alive while his blood killed him. It’s sad but true
pain
December 28, 2008A baby learns to see or gains sight for the first time. If you try to taunt him by acting as if you’re punching him/her. What would be his/her reaction?
If it’s you you’ll probably evade or block. but for the baby, her reaction will be “…” « act of cluelesness, not even a blink.
Why? Because since the time the baby knew how to think, he/se probably doesnt recieve any hurtful acts yet.
3′TC, Tekken
December 13, 2008Tekken. It is a martial art oriented 3Dversus game. I enjoy this game so much that I felt like it was one of my hobbies that i can’t give up on. If you’re not interested about tekken, might as well read another post in here, or leave the page.
Of course a game is nothing without a gamer or gamers; be it a single person, partners, trios or a team; and I am proud to say that I am one of those gamers or players.
I started playing tekken when I was on grade school, It was Tekken 2. Then came the PS1 and with that, the Tekken 3. I played Tekken 3 a lot. At first I was just one of those kids wo would grab the jostick by their full force, then mash the buttons like there’s no tomorrow. After playing Tekken 3 for sometime, i learned that you cannot win the game even if you were the fastest button-masher in the world; I started to learn some particular moves of some particualr characters. It was like, “Okay, If I hit my opponent with this move, it surely will deal a lot of damage.”.When I tried a bit more, I learned those aerial combos or in Tekken jargon called “juggles”.I felt nirvana every time I execute a juggle. But my nirvana was ended when I was introduced to the local arcade machine. There, my opponents are not CPU’s, they’re humans like me, who can think about their moves, and perform juggles themselves. My first player-vs-player experience was horrible. That’s when I started to think not just about performing juggles and hitting my enemies into death, but how to land those juggle starters and those damaging moves. For the first time, I cared a lot about my lifebar.”I need to keep this long until I knock my opponent out”. During I learned that tekken is not just a hit-and-blockgame, it’s more of a offense-defense-setup game; thinking should be part of Tekken playing.
From Tekken 3 to Tekken Tag, to Tekken 4, to Tekken 5, to Tekken 5DR, to Tekken 6. Years have past and still, I make sure that I always have a touch of these games once in a while. During those years, I gained lot’s of knowledge, lots of experience, loss many times, and win many times. At first I thought this is just a game and it will be just a game. But I was wrong. It was more of a lifestyle.
As a progressive Tekken Player, I tend to go to different places to meet other players. I remembered back then a friend of mine. A high-school friend of mine with a very curly hair. We used to play Tekken 3 and Tekken tag a lot and exchanged lots of good fights. Shottie he is. As I recall about his playing, I remembered that he really is a goood player, then I wonder if he still plays Tekken after high-school.
To my surprise, when I came back to serious tekken playing ?(that was tekken 6 already), his name was already so popular among different places where Tekken is played. Whenever I play at different malls and asks my opponents if they knew Shottie, there was a 9:1 ratio that my opponent knew him or not. He was that popular.
3′TC. It’s a group or team of tekken players (not to mention good and excellent players) that makes noise in the Philippine Tekken Community. They were known and feared for their might and strength. And again to my surprise, my old curly-haired friend was the one who founded this team. I asked myself: “Is he really that good to make these (the other 3′TC members) his students?”I never found the answer until we met at a gaming center and played head-to-head. i was so shocked. He was almost invulnerable. Just like the rest of his team. After our nice match, i stepped back a bit and watched them as they play. The feeling was so great. They were like a family, they laugh together, they care for each other and play toghether. I suddenly became proud because I know that somehow, I knew I became a part of Shottie’s playing be it on tekken 3 or Tag. And him becoming the founder of 3′TC makes me even more proud, even if somtimes it feels like envious because one of his girl team mate pawned me during a match, Im still proud that I became one of his friends, one way or the other.
Godbless 3′TC. I hope to play with the rest of you some other time.
If I would be another person, who would I like it to be? And why?
November 2, 2008That [above] is a question given to our class by our “Life, works and writings of Jose Rizal” professor. A pretty old to-know-the-personality question, yet still as hard to answer as the first times. But I gotta give it a shot.
//–the following text are originally written out of the computer–\\
Actually, my brain is nominating a lot of person to be whom I would be now.Of course, it’s very hard because I have to consider every factor of my being, but to vote I need.
I think I’ll vote for my father. So now the other part of my brain which nominated those other person can now shut up.
My father is a Pastor/Minister in our local church, he spent almost half of his current life-time studying. He finished Electronics and Communications Engineering during his college days. After that, he was called by God to be a church worker and studied at the International School of Theology leaving the high-paying jobs, luxurious lifestyles and all that. Right after he graduated another bachelors degree, he pursued a Master’s degree in “Church Ministry, during those years, he took a values education teaching job for High School students. Then years after, he pursued a Doctor’s degree, still in Church Ministry. I can say that I’m one proud son for having a father of his kind. Now when I tell someone about him, I never forgot to address my father as Dr. Jess. He worked for his title, he deserve it.
Now back to me, by that little introduction to my father’s life, you can already learn a lot of things. And that’s the first trait that I want. I want other people to learn just from my lifestyle. Another trait from my father that I want is his faith. I know I have a different perspective towards education right now, but still, I can remember those agonizing feeling of mine during those times when I saw my father studying. He told me that what he was studying is not easy, and it is proven by the fact that he need to sometimes sleep for just 15 min, then take a bath and study again. Still he can’t be stopped, you know why? Because he enjoys what he was doing. He enjoys those tasks God has given him. he did not choose his passion, God gave it to him. Now tell, me what other things to be passionate about can a human think of better that what God has given? Just like my father, I don’t want to engage in something just because I wanted to, I want God to impress me his plans for my life, I’ll just be his agent to fulfill his plan in this world. After all I’m just his creation too, and the creator should be the one controlling his creations. A robot will not move by itself unless its creators instruct it to do something. That’s how it works.
The Law of Nature
October 26, 2008Now. Yes, here in the Philippines, on the 6th day of the 5th week of the 10th month of the 8th year of the 21st century, 21st century most especially.
(Well, if you are not a Filipino or not living in a 3rd world country, I’m pretty sure that you can’t relate to the things written below. Might as well read other topics, or if you want, read this and contemplate and thank God because your not on the same country as I am)
Just for now.. Let’s think freely and open. Let no one dictate through your mind..21st century, you, in this country..
There’s this joke from my professor, a good and a real one;
What’s on the walls displayed on an upper-class-family house? Probably, paintings, or any other artistic and cozy decorative items.
What about the middle-class families? What kind of stuff(s) are on their walls used as decorations? Probably, some graduation pictures, awards, medals and diplomas. Now how about those lower-class families? What do they have on their walls aside from dirt and stain? Semi-nude pictures of girls or calendars with sexy-stars on them..
Haha!
That may be funny or not, but what does it mean? What does it solemnly entails? What does the joke illustrates? Only one thing, REALITY. Having these status classes (upper, middle and lower that is) only implies that all of us living here in our country are not living an equilateral way of life, instead we are living in a triangular way of life where there is only one point on the top. And admittedly, we induividuals of all classes strive to be on the top..
Ask someone from the upper, middle and lower class, what material things do they want to take possesion. You’ll find out that things wanted to be possesed by those on the previous class, the next class already have. And you’ll be surprised that even the upper-class individuals still want lots of things! You’ll find out or be reminded of the fact that we humans can’t be satisfied. We always want to get those higher things and we work for it hard, even if sometimes we tend to go beyond our clearance level and become a big failure ourself.
Aim high while not being a social climber.
Learn to stand on where you are, don’t go to those higher steps if you’re legs are’nt that long and strong enough to climb. Nothing is imposible to do, but be aware that failure and downfall is also not impossible.
The law is simple; Be content while you live above the level of mediocrity.
