pain
December 28, 2008A baby learns to see or gains sight for the first time. If you try to taunt him by acting as if you’re punching him/her. What would be his/her reaction?
If it’s you you’ll probably evade or block. but for the baby, her reaction will be “…” « act of cluelesness, not even a blink.
Why? Because since the time the baby knew how to think, he/se probably doesnt recieve any hurtful acts yet.
3′TC, Tekken
December 13, 2008Tekken. It is a martial art oriented 3Dversus game. I enjoy this game so much that I felt like it was one of my hobbies that i can’t give up on. If you’re not interested about tekken, might as well read another post in here, or leave the page.
Of course a game is nothing without a gamer or gamers; be it a single person, partners, trios or a team; and I am proud to say that I am one of those gamers or players.
I started playing tekken when I was on grade school, It was Tekken 2. Then came the PS1 and with that, the Tekken 3. I played Tekken 3 a lot. At first I was just one of those kids wo would grab the jostick by their full force, then mash the buttons like there’s no tomorrow. After playing Tekken 3 for sometime, i learned that you cannot win the game even if you were the fastest button-masher in the world; I started to learn some particular moves of some particualr characters. It was like, “Okay, If I hit my opponent with this move, it surely will deal a lot of damage.”.When I tried a bit more, I learned those aerial combos or in Tekken jargon called “juggles”.I felt nirvana every time I execute a juggle. But my nirvana was ended when I was introduced to the local arcade machine. There, my opponents are not CPU’s, they’re humans like me, who can think about their moves, and perform juggles themselves. My first player-vs-player experience was horrible. That’s when I started to think not just about performing juggles and hitting my enemies into death, but how to land those juggle starters and those damaging moves. For the first time, I cared a lot about my lifebar.”I need to keep this long until I knock my opponent out”. During I learned that tekken is not just a hit-and-blockgame, it’s more of a offense-defense-setup game; thinking should be part of Tekken playing.
From Tekken 3 to Tekken Tag, to Tekken 4, to Tekken 5, to Tekken 5DR, to Tekken 6. Years have past and still, I make sure that I always have a touch of these games once in a while. During those years, I gained lot’s of knowledge, lots of experience, loss many times, and win many times. At first I thought this is just a game and it will be just a game. But I was wrong. It was more of a lifestyle.
As a progressive Tekken Player, I tend to go to different places to meet other players. I remembered back then a friend of mine. A high-school friend of mine with a very curly hair. We used to play Tekken 3 and Tekken tag a lot and exchanged lots of good fights. Shottie he is. As I recall about his playing, I remembered that he really is a goood player, then I wonder if he still plays Tekken after high-school.
To my surprise, when I came back to serious tekken playing ?(that was tekken 6 already), his name was already so popular among different places where Tekken is played. Whenever I play at different malls and asks my opponents if they knew Shottie, there was a 9:1 ratio that my opponent knew him or not. He was that popular.
3′TC. It’s a group or team of tekken players (not to mention good and excellent players) that makes noise in the Philippine Tekken Community. They were known and feared for their might and strength. And again to my surprise, my old curly-haired friend was the one who founded this team. I asked myself: “Is he really that good to make these (the other 3′TC members) his students?”I never found the answer until we met at a gaming center and played head-to-head. i was so shocked. He was almost invulnerable. Just like the rest of his team. After our nice match, i stepped back a bit and watched them as they play. The feeling was so great. They were like a family, they laugh together, they care for each other and play toghether. I suddenly became proud because I know that somehow, I knew I became a part of Shottie’s playing be it on tekken 3 or Tag. And him becoming the founder of 3′TC makes me even more proud, even if somtimes it feels like envious because one of his girl team mate pawned me during a match, Im still proud that I became one of his friends, one way or the other.
Godbless 3′TC. I hope to play with the rest of you some other time.
