The Law of Nature
October 26, 2008Now. Yes, here in the Philippines, on the 6th day of the 5th week of the 10th month of the 8th year of the 21st century, 21st century most especially.
(Well, if you are not a Filipino or not living in a 3rd world country, I’m pretty sure that you can’t relate to the things written below. Might as well read other topics, or if you want, read this and contemplate and thank God because your not on the same country as I am)
Just for now.. Let’s think freely and open. Let no one dictate through your mind..21st century, you, in this country..
There’s this joke from my professor, a good and a real one;
What’s on the walls displayed on an upper-class-family house? Probably, paintings, or any other artistic and cozy decorative items.
What about the middle-class families? What kind of stuff(s) are on their walls used as decorations? Probably, some graduation pictures, awards, medals and diplomas. Now how about those lower-class families? What do they have on their walls aside from dirt and stain? Semi-nude pictures of girls or calendars with sexy-stars on them..
Haha!
That may be funny or not, but what does it mean? What does it solemnly entails? What does the joke illustrates? Only one thing, REALITY. Having these status classes (upper, middle and lower that is) only implies that all of us living here in our country are not living an equilateral way of life, instead we are living in a triangular way of life where there is only one point on the top. And admittedly, we induividuals of all classes strive to be on the top..
Ask someone from the upper, middle and lower class, what material things do they want to take possesion. You’ll find out that things wanted to be possesed by those on the previous class, the next class already have. And you’ll be surprised that even the upper-class individuals still want lots of things! You’ll find out or be reminded of the fact that we humans can’t be satisfied. We always want to get those higher things and we work for it hard, even if sometimes we tend to go beyond our clearance level and become a big failure ourself.
Aim high while not being a social climber.
Learn to stand on where you are, don’t go to those higher steps if you’re legs are’nt that long and strong enough to climb. Nothing is imposible to do, but be aware that failure and downfall is also not impossible.
The law is simple; Be content while you live above the level of mediocrity.
